20 automakers to agree to voluntarily install forward crash warning and crash imminent braking systems

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has denied a request from certain groups for rules to mandate the use of automatic emergency braking (AEB) in light vehicles in the United States, according to a US Federal Register filing on 25 January.
