Regulation requires autonomous cars to be equipped with a black box

Late last month, Germany approved a draft law that will allow entry of autonomous driving cars on the country’s roads, according to the German federal economic development agency, Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI). The draft law allows drivers to hand over the control of the vehicle to its control system in certain situations for a certain time period. The law stipulates that the driver must be able to override or deactivate the vehicle’s self-driving system, instantly at any time.
