Automotive haptics have become a hot topic lately, especially as they become more and more commonplace in the consumer electronics world. Haptics for safety applications are increasingly becoming standard features, while haptics to support infotainment is becoming more important as the overall automotive UX becomes more important. The trend of eliminating traditional buttons has existed for a few years now, but replacing that mechanical feedback is still a work in progress.
