HERE, Pioneer partner on global map solution and next generation location-based services
Partnership allows HERE to extend its mapping coverage to Japan for the first time
HERE and Pioneer Corporation plan to enter into a strategic partnership to enable global mapping solutions and next generation location-based services for automotive and other industries, Pioneer announced in a press release on 8 February. Under the agreement, HERE will utilize navigation-grade map data for Japan from Pioneer’s mapping subsidiary Increment P Corporation (IPC), while IPC will utilize HERE’s map data in products and services it provides to customers outside of Japan.
