Company began carpooling service as pilot program last year

Waze has expanded its smartphone-based carpool services across the entire San Francisco Bay Area, Forbes reported on 7 February citing a post by Google-owned traffic navigation app on Facebook. “We're excited to be partnering with our Bay Area neighbors Kaiser Permanente, MTC BATA [Metropolitan Transportation Commission and Bay Area Toll Authority] and UCSF [University of California, San Francisco], to make more commutes (and lives) easier through the magic of carpooling to work,” the post read. With the latest expansion, Waze Carpool service now operates in nine counties in and around Silicon Valley and San Francisco, in California (United States).
