Earlier this month, Lear signed a definitive agreement to acquire Grupo Antolin's automotive seating business. In a statement, Lear said that the acquisition is an important step in strengthening its core seating business by further diversifying its global seating sales, and expanding its seat component capabilities. In an email interview Mel Stephens, senior vice president of communications, corporate and investor relations, Lear Corporation, told SupplierInsight’s Arti Anand that the acquisition will help Lear increase its sales and market share in Europe and that the company is well positioned, financially and in terms of its capabilities, to further augment is its global market share in the automotive seating market.
