Toyota is looking to significantly increase wholesale steel prices for Japanese component makers for the first half of fiscal year (FY) 2017/18, according to a report by Nikkei. The automaker's prices will reportedly climb by nearly JPY14,000 (USD124) per tonne in the first such increase in three and a half years. Toyota has recently negotiated a new price for metal sheets with its supplier, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC).
