Cooper Tire recalls more than 7,000 Discoverer M+S sport tires
Affected tires fail to meet traction requirements for snow tires
US-based tire-maker Cooper Tire is recalling more than 7,000 units of Discover M+S Sports tire in 15 through 19-inch sizes, Modern Tire Dealer reported on 21 February. According to the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) these tires may be marked with Alpine symbol but do not meet the traction requirements for snow tires and fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, 'New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles.'
