NIRA Dynamics launches slip hazard warning feature
Feature could also be useful for future self-driving cars
NIRA Dynamics rolled out a new safety feature for cars called ‘Road Surface Information’ during the winter of 2016/17 that provides driver with slip hazard warning, the Sweden-based company said in a press release this month. The feature continuously monitors the road friction in real time. It uses information sent form several vehicles to a central server, from where it is shared with other vehicles approaching that area.
