AAA survey reveals 78% of Americans afraid to ride in self-driving cars
Greater acceptability is vital for wider adaption of such vehicles
About three-fourth of drivers in the United States are afraid to ride in self-driving cars, according to a survey by the American Automobile Association (AAA). “With the rapid advancement towards autonomous vehicles, American drivers may be hesitant to give up full control,” said John Nielsen, AAA’s managing director of Automotive Engineering and Repair. The association conducted similar survey last year, but there has been no major change in people response this year.
