Company’s self-driving car will not be a luxury car

NIO plans to launch a self-driving electric car in the United States by 2020, the company said in a press release on 10 March. The company’s self-driving car will offer SAE Level 4 autonomy and will be capable of driving itself in constrained environments. However, the self-driving car will have a steering wheel and brake pedal so that its human occupants can take control of the vehicle if they want.
