Grab acquires Kudo to boost mobile payment platform

Company appoints Jason Thompson head of GrabPay

Singapore-based ride-hailing and mobile payments platform Grab has entered into an agreement to acquire Kudo, an Indonesian start-up specializing in online to offline (O2O) e-commerce, for an undisclosed amount, the company said in a press release on 3 April. Kudo’s platform enables customers without bank account to shop online by connecting them with online merchant and service providers via its network of more than 400,000 agents in 500 towns and cities in Indonesia.
