Carnegie Mellon University, TCS to open R&D center in US next year
New facility to focus on next-generation technologies including cognitive systems and autonomous vehicles
Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have broken ground on a new facility at the CMU campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (United States), the university said in a press release on 13 April. The new facility, dubbed ‘TCS Hall’, will house research and academic spaces where two institutions will collaborate on promoting next-generation technologies that will drive 4th industrial revolutions, including cognitive systems and autonomous vehicles. The 48,000-square foot facility will also feature an innovation courtyard, an eco-sustainable rain garden and a robot yard. The facility is scheduled to be opened next year.
