Use of sustainable materials work in favor of automakers to help tone down their carbon footprints

The quest towards scouting for sustainable materials for vehicle applications has led automakers to search for new and innovative ways. So much so, that their collaboration outside the industry has resulted in some interesting partnerships. Like in the case of Ford which partnered with tequila producer Jose Cuervo, in July 2016, to explore how bioplastics produced from what's left over of the agave plant distilled to make tequila, could result in more environmental friendly components in its future vehicles.
