Says 5G network requires lengthy validation, which could delay its adoption in vehicles

Hwang Seung Ho, executive vice-president of Hyundai Motor Group’s Auto Intelligence Division, expects a slow roll out of 5G cellular networks in vehicles, reports by Automotive News. Like the current 4G technology, Seung Ho expects 5G to first emerge in mobile phones within four years, before it is launched in vehicles. To make it compatible for vehicles, the network will “require lengthy validation which could push back adoption 10 years or so”, Ho said in an interview to the news publication.
