Velodyne unveils new Lidar for ADAS, autonomous driving applications
Company to begin production of new Lidar next year
Velodyne LiDAR has unveiled a new solid-state Lidar called Velarray for use in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving, the company said in a press release on 19 April. The new Lidar uses a fixed array of lasers and receivers to provide up to a 120-degreehorizontal and 35-degree vertical field of view, with a 200-meter range. Velarray is compact in size, measuring 125mm x 50mm x 55mm, and can be seamlessly embedded into the front, sides and corner of vehicles, according to the company.
