Getaround raises USD45 million in new funding

Company plans to use proceeds from latest fundraising to expand operations in US

Getaround, a US-based start-up specializing in peer-to-peer car-sharing platform, has raised USD45 million in Series C round of funding, the company said in a press release. The latest fundraising round was led by venture capital firm Braemar Energy Ventures and joined by SPARX Group, an investment unit of Toyota, and SAIC Capital, an investment arm of SAIC Motors. Getaround’s existing investors, including Menlo Ventures and Triangle Peak Partners, also participated in Series C fundraising round. The company has so far raised USD85 million since its establishment in 2009.
