Shanghai Motor Show will be the launch pad for a number of concepts

Volkswagen (VW) will show the new ID Crossover concept at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show, which will reach showrooms as a production model as soon as 2020, with production slated for 2019. The pure electric vehicle (EV) is an affordable EV concept. Meanwhile, Chinese automaker Geely has shown teaser images of its new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) concept, which is expected to preview a model to be released towards the end of the year. Chery Automobile will showcase its Tiggo Coupe concept, while the Tiggo 7 sport variant will be launched at the show. Both international and local Chinese media report that Jeep will show the Yuntu concept at the Shanghai Motor Show, which is expected to be a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) seven-seater model. A production variant is expected to be produced at the Fiat Chrysler Automobile joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile in China.
