Appoints Raquel Urtasun to lead the new research team

Uber has announced plans to open a new research hub in Toronto, Canada, its first such facility outside the United States, the company said in a press release on 8 May. The new center, to be located in Toronto’s MaRS Discovery District, will focus on research on artificial intelligence (AI) technology for self-driving cars. The US-based ride-sharing company is planning to hire “dozens” of AI researchers at the new research hub in Toronto.
