Renault, Nissan plants hit by cyberattack in Europe
Cyberattack affected production at Renault plants in France, Romania and Slovenia and Nissan plant in UK
Nissan’s manufacturing plant in Sunderland has been affected by a cyber attack that has impacted around 100 countries, Reuters reported on 13 May. “Like many organisations, our UK plant was subject to a ransomware attack affecting some of our systems on Friday evening. Our teams are working to resolve the issue,” a spokesman from the Japan-based automaker was quoted as saying. However, the spokesman declined to confirm media reports that cyber attack affected vehicle production at the Sunderland plant.
