Funding to help the company enhance its ‘radar vision’ technology

US-based Echodyne Corp has raised USD29 million in Series B funding for developing radar-based technologies, the company announced in a press release on 22 May, 2017. Echodyne is developing a ‘radar vision’ technology with application in autonomous vehicles, drones and heavy machinery. ‘Radar vision’ is a result of combining radar hardware with computer vision-like software for classification, recognition, and perception. The company claims its patented technology MESA (Metamaterial Electronically Scanning Array) can produce new-age radars that are smaller, lighter and affordable than the conventional phased array radar.
