US to release revised self-driving guidelines in next few months

DOT said it is reviewing self-driving guidelines issued by the Obama administration in February this year

The US government plans to unveil revised guidelines for self-driving cars within the next few months, US Transport Secretary Elaine Chao was quoted as saying on Monday by Reuters. “The pressure is mounting for the federal government to do something” about autonomous vehicles, Chao told reporters in Detroit, Michigan, but cautioned that the federal government should be “careful before setting binding rules” to govern such vehicles.
