Partnership to leverage Toyota’s SDL and LINE’s Clova to develop connected car service with voice assistance technologies

Toyota has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with messaging service provider LINE to explore opportunities in connected car services, the Japanese automaker said in a press release on 15 June. Under the business alliance, the two partners aim to develop a new connected car service with voice assistance technologies by using Toyota’s SmartDeviceLink (SDL) open source standard and LINE’s Clova cloud AI platform. Toyota and LINE aim to commercialize this connected car service by 2018.
