New Focus plans to save USD1 billion, the automaker claims

Ford is investing USD900 million to upgrade its plant in Louisville, Kentucky (United States) to begin production of all-new Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator full-size sport utility vehicles (SUV), the company said in a press release on 20 June. The US900 million investment is on top of USD1.3 billion investment that the US automaker announced in late 2015 to build the all-new Ford Super Duty pick-ups at the plant. The latest investment by Ford will secure 1,000 jobs at the Kentucky plant. Ford employs around 7,600 full-time hourly workers at the plant.
