US automaker plans to launch SAE Level 4 autonomous cars by 2021

Ford demonstrated a fleet of self-driving Fusion Hybrid cars at the University of Michigan’s Mcity proving ground for autonomous cars, Automotive News reported on 22 June. The self-driving Fusion Hybrid test vehicles successfully piloted themselves, at top speed of around 25 miles per hour (mph), correctly read stop lights, negotiated turns and identified real pedestrian and cyclists on the road.
