Takata files bankruptcy protection in Japan, US; reaches agreement to sell most of assets to Key Safety System
Bankruptcy filing to accelerate the restructuring of struggling Japanese supplier and planned sale of assets to KSS
Takata has filed bankruptcy protection in Japan and the United States, according to several media reports. In the United States, Takata’s subsidiary TK Holding filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware on Sunday (25 June) while in Japan the parent company filed for protection with the Tokyo District Court early today (26 June).
