Volkswagen (VW) to equip vehicle with pWLAN technology to enable V2X communications
Technology will allow VW vehicles to communicate with other vehicles and transport infrastructure within a radius of 500 meters
Volkswagen (VW) plans to equip its vehicles with pWLAN (public wireless LAN) technology as standard beginning 2019, the German automaker said in a press release on 28 June. The technology will allow VW vehicles to communicate with other vehicles (including those made by other automakers) and transport infrastructure within a radius of 500 meters. This is expected to allow vehicles and transport infrastructure to share information about warnings, traffic and road conditions within seconds.
