General Motors (GM) aims to sell 500,000 NEVs in China annually by 2025
Expects all Cadillacs, Buicks and Chevrolets sold in the Chinese market to be connected by 2020
General Motors (GM) and its joint-venture (JV) in China has set a goal to sell 150,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) a year by 2020 and 500,000 units by 2025, the company said in a press release last month. The US automaker plans to sell these NEVs under the Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet brands. GM and its Chinese JV SAIC are “heavily investing in advanced powertrain and new energy technologies, deploying full range of electrification solutions to changing market needs,” the press release said. Apart from electrified vehicles, GM is focusing on developing connected and intelligent vehicles in China. The company said its all Cadillac, Buick and Chevrolet brands sold in the Chinese market will be connected by 2020.
