Strategic investment to enhance autonomous vehicle development and testing capabilities of Renault as well as Renault-Nissan Alliance
Renault has acquired a 35% equity stake in Autonomous Vehicle Simulation (AVS), a new joint-venture (JV) formed with Oktal, a subsidiary of French aerospace and simulation company Sogeclair, the automaker said in a press release on 4 July. Under the agreement, Oktal will transfer its automotive assets to AVS. “This acquisition supports Groupe Renault’s strategy to deliver the vehicle of the future: electric, connected and autonomous,” said Gaspar Gascon, executive vice president of product engineering at Renault. “This partnership will help us to speed up building our offer of new services and improve our customer experience,” Gascon said.
