Zipcar to exit Austria next month, partners with HonkMobile for parking service in Canada
Zipcar entered Austria five years ago by acquiring a local car-sharing company
Zipcar has decided to exit from Austria next month amid intensifying competition, Reuters reported on 5 July. The car-sharing company, owned by US-based car rental company Avis Budget Group, will cease its operations in the Austria car-sharing market on 6 August, after operating the service for five years. A spokeswoman from Zipcar told Reuters that the company would end operation in Austria “as part of our ongoing process of evaluation to improve business performance across all markets”.
