Electric carmaker is deploying updates in maps and navigations first in its vehicles in Taiwan

Tesla has begun updating maps and navigation systems in its vehicles using MapBox open source mapping platform and Valhalla’s open source routing engine, Electrek reported on 3 July. The electric carmaker has started introducing new modules from MapBox for custom designed maps and Valhalla for navigation. Tesla is deploying updates in maps and navigations first in Taiwan where the automaker is yet to enable its in-car navigation app. However, the automaker can deploy updates in new all vehicles in other market as well, the report said.
