General Motors (GM) plans to launch wider OTA update capability ‘before 2020’ – report

US automaker General Motors (GM) is planning to unveil a new electrical vehicle architecture and next-generation infotainment system that will be capable of over-the-air (OTA) updates before 2020, Automotive News quoted CEO Mary Barra as saying. "We are in the process of deploying a new electrical architecture, which is a pretty comprehensive undertaking, and that's well under way ... as well as a whole new generation of infotainment systems," Barra said during a conference call with analysts to discuss second quarter results.
