Volkswagen (VW), SOVAC open new vehicle assembly plant in Algeria
Companies formed JV to set up assembly plant in Algeria last year
The Volkswagen (VW) Group and SOVAC have inaugurated their multi-brand vehicle assembly facility in Relizane (Algeria), according to a press release by SEAT last week. The assembly facility, operated by joint-venture (JV) SOVAC Production S.P.A., will assemble VW Group’s vehicles such as SEAT Ibiza, VW Golf and Caddi and Skoda Octavia. It will have daily production capacity of 200 vehicles. Next year, the new facility will also assemble the VW Polo and Skoda Fabia compact.
