Uber introduces ‘in-app’ chat feature to help riders better connect with drivers
Company starts rolling out in-app chat features in ride-sharing app for both riders and drivers in coming weeks
Uber has introduced a new in-app chat feature in its ride-sharing app to help drivers and riders connect better and make pickup experience less cumbersome, the US-based ride-sharing company said in a press release on 10 August. In order to chat with their driver en route all a rider is required to do is to go to Uber feed and tap ‘contact’ and then chat. When driver gets the message from their rider on their smartphone it will read out loud. The driver can respond to the message with one tap on their app through sending ‘thumbs up’ emoji response to their rider.
