Study reinforces the findings from similar studies done previously

Advanced safety and driver assist technologies such as lane departure warning systems and blind spot detection are helping drivers in the United States prevent accidents, according to a study by the Insurance Institute for Higher Safety (IIHS). According to the study, done by Jessica Cicchino, vice president for research at IIHS, the lane departure warning reduces the rate of single-vehicle, sideswipe and no-head crashes by 11% and injury rates by 21%.
