NXP confirms partnership with Changan Automobile on infotainment, future vehicle technologies
Latest agreement strengthens collaboration between Chinese automaker and Dutch supplier
NXP Semiconductors has confirmed signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China-based Changan Automobile to supply infotainment and other technologies, the company said in a press release on 30 August. Under the long-term agreement, which will run in multiple phases, the Netherlands-based automotive electronics company will provide its next-generation i.MX 8 applications processors to help the Chinese automaker upgrade its infotainment system. NXP will also supply its Dirana family of radio tuners and DSPs (SAF775x), audio amplifiers, power management ICs and CAN transceivers to Changan.
