Hyundai, Kia to temporarily close plant in US due to Hurricane Irma
Closure to result in production loss of 3,000 vehicles
Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia have decided to temporarily shut down plants in the United States to avoid any potential damages from Hurricane Irma, Reuters reported on Monday (11 September). While Hyundai will suspend operations at its vehicle manufacturing plant in Montgomery, Alabama for two days between Monday (11 September) and Wednesday (13 September), Kia will stop production at its West Point plant in Georgia for one day between Monday (11 September) and Tuesday (12 September).
