General Motor (GM)’s Cruise Automation unveils production-ready self-driving electric car
The latest generation of Bolt self-driving electric car meets redundancy and safety requirements necessary to operate without a driver
Cruise Automation, a company owned by GM, has unveiled the latest version of autonomous Chevrolet Bolt electric car claiming it to be the first self-driving car ready for mass production. “Today, we’re unveiling the world’s first mass-producible car designed to operate without a driver. This isn’t just a concept design — it has airbags, crumple zones, and comfortable seats,” Kyle Vogt, CEO and founder of Cruise Automation, wrote in a blog posted on Medium.
