Mercedes-Benz’s self-driving test car to cover five continents

Five-month test drive aims to collect information on what happened under the real traffic conditions in a self-driving car around the world

Mercedes-Benz has kicked off a test drive of a self-driving car that will cover five continents over the next five months, the automaker said in a press release. The test drive called ‘Intelligent World Drive’ was flagged off by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, president and CEO of Daimler and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt (Germany) on Wednesday (13 September). Mercedes-Benz is using a modified S-Class equipped with its self-driving technologies for the test drive.
