ACEA proposes 20% CO2 reduction for passenger vehicles over 2021 by 2030
Target to be revised during mid-year review in 2025 based on uptake of EVs and availability of EV charging infrastructure
The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has proposed an additional 20% reduction in CO2 emission from passenger vehicles by 2030 compared to 2021 level, the association of the European vehicle manufacturers said in a press release on 13 September. This target, however, depends on the uptake of the electric vehicles (EVs) and availability of charging infrastructures for such vehicles in the EU countries.
