Intel partners with Waymo on self-driving compute design

Company has been collaborating with former ‘Google Self-Driving Car’ project since 2009

Intel has been collaborating with Waymo, the self-driving car subsidiary of Alphabet, the US-based chipmaker said in a press release on 18 September. The company is supplying technologies for sensor processing, general compute and connectivity in the modified Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan, which Waymo is using in its self-driving test fleet for more than a year.
