Move seen by many to reduce dependence on NVIDIA

Tesla is collaborating with AMD to develop its own chip for self-driving cars, CNBC reported on 20 September citing a source familiar with the matter. The US-based electric carmaker is reportedly using AMD’s intellectual property in building its artificial intelligence (AI) chip, which will be capable of handling all the tasks needed to power fleet of fully autonomous cars.
