Autoliv to acquire certain assets of Swedish Lidar specialist
Acquisition to strengthen Autoliv’s capabilities in developing solutions for autonomous driving
Autoliv has reached an agreement to acquire select assets of Fotonic i Norden, a Sweden-based company specializing in Lidar and Time of Flight camera, the company said in a press release today (28 September). The acquisition will result in transfer of certain intellectual property rights, development and prototyping assets and development resources from Fotonic i Norden to Autoliv. In addition, about 35 engineering experts of Fotonic i Norden, working in Lidar and Time of Flight camera development, will join Autoliv. The acquired assets will become a part of Autoliv’s Electronics business segment. The transaction is expected to close, though subjected to closing conditions, before the end of the current year.
