Companies to focus on development of common architecture

Toyota, Mazda and Denso have signed a contract to jointly develop basic structural technologies for electric vehicles (EV) covering a wide range of vehicle segments and types, according to a press release by Toyota today (28 September). Additionally, the Japanese partners will establish a joint-venture, called EV C.A. Spirit Co., Ltd., which will have engineers from the three companies to ensure efficient implementation of the project. Toyota will have 90% stake in the JV, while Mazda and Denso have 5% each.
