Israel opens new highway exclusively for autonomous cars testing
Government invites five companies to test self-driving technologies
Israel has opened a highway exclusively for companies testing autonomous vehicles, financial daily Globes reported last week. The 1.5 kilometer stretch of Road 531, with three lanes in both directions, and linking Road 2 (the coastal highway) with Road 20 (the Ayalon highway), north of Tel Aviv, will be used by five companies to conduct trials of autonomous vehicles for the next two months.
