Supplier to support production of Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation SUVs in the state

Germany-based vehicle cockpit modules supplier SAS Automotive is beginning manufacturing operations in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama (the United States), Area Development reported on 1 December. The company’s new facility will support the production of Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) at a nearby vehicle manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa. The investment will create 170 new jobs in the region, according to the report. The German supplier has not disclosed financial and other details of investment.
