Ford to test new autonomous driving technology in 2018

US automaker has intensified focus to launch highly autonomous vehicle for use in ride-sharing service by 2021

In 2018, Ford plans to begin testing new self-driving technology and business model for deploying autonomous vehicles in pilot programs in at least one city, Jim Farley, president of the global market at the automaker, wrote in a blog on Medium. “Next year will be an important time for us as we begin to test both our self-driving technology and business model in a variety of pilot programs in the first city in which we plan to operate an autonomous vehicle business,” Farley wrote in the blog.
