Denso acquires ‘phone-as-a-key’ technology developer InfiniteKey

Acquired company specialises in phone-as-a-key technology, demand for which is expected to grow amid rising focus on shared mobility services

Denso has acquired US-based mobile software firm InfiniteKey for an undisclosed amount, according to a press release by the Japanese supplier on 14 December. Based in Holland, Michigan, InfiniteKey uses smartphones and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and sensors to use phones as passive keys. Denso acquired InfiniteKey through its US-based subsidiary, Denso International America; the acquisition was completed in October this year.
