Indian government eyes 100% electric public transport through ‘FAME II’ scheme
Second phase of FAME India scheme expected to start around March 2018
The Government of India is aiming to electrify the entire public transport fleet under the second phase of its “Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India” (FAME India) scheme, reports local news agency Press Trust of India, citing India’s union minister for Heavy Industries Anant Geete.
