New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority to test five New Flyer electric buses
Electric buses combine XALT Energy’s battery technology with Siemens’ high-efficiency electric motors and rapid overhead charging systems
New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), acting through the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT), will launch a electric bus test and evaluation program of five New Flyer Xcelsior CHARGE battery-electric, 40-foot heavy-duty transit buses, New Flyer of America, a manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, announced in a press release earlier this month. The program will begin this month.
